United Technology Employers' Coalition of America

Employers and Labor Working Together for America's Technology Workforce.

UTECA brings technology employers and organized labor together to strengthen America's technology workforce, expand high-value domestic technology careers, prepare workers for the technologies of tomorrow, and advance U.S. technology competitiveness.

KEEP.BUILD.ADVANCE.

The Challenge

Technology is moving faster than the workforce systems built around it.

Artificial intelligence, automation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data engineering, software platforms, semiconductor technologies and digital infrastructure are changing how organizations operate and what skills workers need.

At the same time, American employers face persistent technology talent gaps, rapidly changing skill requirements, global cost pressures and the continued movement of technology work outside the United States. Workers face equally significant challenges as established roles evolve and new technologies reshape career paths.

UTECA was created around a simple belief: employers and labor can address these challenges more effectively together than separately.

Our Mission

UTECA unites technology employers and organized labor around a shared national objective: strengthen the domestic technology workforce while helping American employers remain innovative, productive and globally competitive.

We work to create an environment in which employer competitiveness and worker competitiveness reinforce one another.

Strong employers create opportunity.

Domestic employers that can compete and grow are the foundation of sustainable technology careers.

Skilled workers strengthen employers.

Current, adaptable skills make American talent the strategic choice.

Collaboration makes both more resilient.

Shared planning turns technological change into opportunity instead of displacement.

Keeping Technology Jobs in America

Not isolationism.
Competitiveness.

UTECA believes more high-value technology work should be performed in the United States by a highly capable domestic workforce.

America must make its technology workforce one of the most skilled, adaptable, productive and innovation-ready workforces in the world. By strengthening talent pipelines, reskilling experienced professionals, preparing graduates, expanding apprenticeship pathways and creating constructive employer-labor relationships, UTECA seeks to make domestic technology talent the strategic choice for employers.
